Bike Shorts 6 update
July 5th at The Yard
Boy is this going to be a great screening! All day long, Summercamp is going to be running strong, and it's going to end with two great bands, TheUSAisamonster and Ultradolphins. Once dusk sets in, not only does Bike Shorts have have fresh new work to show you, but we're screening the NYC premiere of the Bootleg Sessions 2 as well! And not only are we giving away $100 in cash to the evening's best film, but every filmmaker is getting a free Crumpler bag, just for their submission! There's still time to get your film to us (but not much), so do it now!
Bike Shorts 6
Saturday, July 5th. 9pm
Bike Shorts is having it's 1-year anniversary with an outdoor screening on Saturday, July 5th at The Yard in Gowanus Brooklyn. Submissions are due by June 28th. There will be a full day of activities at the Yard before the screening. (more details to come). Admission to Bike Shorts will be $5, and admission to the whole day (including the screening) is $10.
Bike Shorts 5
Bike Shorts had it's 5th screening last week at Galapagos, and again, it was a huge success. It was our longest program of shorts ever, and an interesting feat was achieved: there were no alleycat videos, no polo videos, and no trick videos. People are out there making all sorts of stories using bikes, and that is a great thing. Not only was our program one of the more dynamic programs yet, we got BikeSnobbed! Unfortunately, the snob left before our winner's piece came on.

March 30th at Galapagos
Bike Shorts 4
Last week's Bike Shorts was a huge success, yet again. Galapagos was packed full of bike enthusiasts and talented filmmakers. On
top of that, we've been invited back for another screening on March 30th! We featured films from several regular contributors, including "Sunchasers" a beautiful piece on paralympic track cyclists by last month's winner, Irvin Coffee. Five short pieces were submitted by Kierie Piccininni, who has been making a film a day for the past 80 days and counting. Keep track of her work on her youtube channel: citizenbybike. One submission we regretfully had to cut from our program (due to length) was from Streetfilm's Clarence Eckerson, on Bogota's Ciclovia. When all was said and done, the clear winner was the epic action flick, starring NYC's newest, sexiest bike heroines, the Thunderlips.

Bike Shorts 4
January 13 2008
We've got a seriously exciting new venue and an even more exciting lineup for the next Bike Shorts screening. This edition of
our series will take place at Galapagos Art Space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Galapagos is a fantastic venue that has been on of the premiere spots of Brooklyn's cultural landscape for almost 13 years. It has been described by
some Bike Shorts organizers as "perfect". And now, they're letting us in to show your films there. We're pretty excited.

We're also excited about the fact that we're going to present the New York City premiere of
The Bootleg Sessions. This Philadelphia born & bred project
is going to blow your mind. And there's a good chance you might be IN some of the shots as well. So don't miss it! Check out a
preview to the right.
Bike Shorts 3
The Bike Shorts screenings just get better and better. This month featured 16 different pieces by 12 different filmmakers.
In our largest single screening yet, 135 people packed into
Larry Lawrence Bar, which provided an excellent venue for a Sunday evening of alleycats, silent flicks, animated bike tools,
and much, much more.
On a serious note, however, Bike Shorts needs to address the issue of the bathroom mirror that got tagged at the end of the evening. The night was great, and everything was going well until a tag was etched on Larry Lawrence's mirror. Not just tagged, etched. That's just not cool. The owners weren't particularly happy about it. We understand the impulses behind a tag, but we're asking you, our audience, not to deface our venues. If you like our screenings and want them to continue, things like this make it difficult for us to get invited back.
OK, enough preaching. Here's the lineup from September 30th's show. Be sure to check out Girlfriend in a bag, the winner of our $100 prize.
